Town selected to participate in technical support program with Community Planning Assistance for Wildfire (CPAW) Program

The Town of Nederland was accepted into the Community Planning Assistance for Wildfire (CPAW) Program. This program provides support in the form of technical (not monetary) assistance, as well as all-expense paid attendance at the Land Use Planning and Wildfire Forum in Boulder, Colorado on December 10-12, 2019. The forum provides the latest science and best practices regarding wildfire risks, as well as network building opportunities. The grant application was a collaboration between the Nederland Fire Protection District (NFPD) personnel Fire Chief Rick Dir, Fire Inspector and Wildfire Risk Coordinator Rik Henrikson, and Deputy Zoning Administrator Cynthia Bakke, with some historical perspective and past wildfire program information provided by former Trustee and PROSAB Chairman Randy Lee.
