Parks Dept Seeks Temporary Summer Maintenance Workers

The Town of Nederland’s Parks Department is seeking 1 – 2 temporary workers this summer to help us build trails, enhance parks and facilities, and improve access to the Barker Reservoir shoreline area. The Parks & Trails Maintenance Worker is a temporary, non-benefitted position that will work 30 – 40 hours per week June – August at $20/hour. (Schedule can be flexible).

This is a great opportunity to work outside this summer while helping improve access to outdoor recreation in the Peak-to-Peak area, as well as rehabilitating the area’s natural features. This position will play a major role in executing the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Resilient Communities Program grant, which the Town of Nederland was awarded in March 2021.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Trails, sidewalk maintenance, construction and/or maintenance work associated with Town parks and facilities
  • Sweeping, weeding, modifying drainage associated with trail work, and some trail construction
  • Collecting all recycling, trash, and compost materials from public bear boxes around town, as well as Town facilities
  • Mowing, trimming, cleaning and maintaining bathrooms and facilities, preparing parks for events, and assisting with the sprinkler system maintenance
