On December 7, 2019 the Nederland Utilities Department will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for Nederland’s new Biosolids Facility. We invite all members of the public to attend. The ribbon cutting will take place at 9am and the open house will follow, ending at 11am. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
This new facility, designed by JVA, Inc., and constructed by Fischer Construction, Inc., solves Nederland’s sludge dilemma by dewatering sludge and reducing the number of trucks going up and down the canyon. Additionally, this project eliminates the need to store sludge on site for future disposal, ridding Nederland of the odors associated with this storage pond. Features of the new building include a digester for thickening, a screw press for dewatering, several pumps and blowers to assist in the process, and a solids analyzing laboratory.
Please join us on the morning of December 7, 2019 to see what all the talk has been about over the past couple of years.
