The Town of Nederland is issuing a statement of interest and qualification request for individuals and/or organizations who are interested in partnering with the Town to develop an architectural landscape design for the Nederland Shoreline Trails & Stewardship Project.
This project will create trails and improve access to the Barker Reservoir shoreline area while rehabilitating the area’s natural features. As a front range community, usage dramatically increased throughout the pandemic leading to erratic social trails, erosion, and water quality concerns. Trail improvements are vital as there is only one narrow trail in the overused area. Site design includes doggie waste receptacles, revegetation, native seeding, and stewardship education. A natural play sculpture will be built by youth crews employed through non-profit partner, TEENS Inc., TeamWorks will also address the trail damage caused by the sudden increase in foot traffic.
