Nederland Police Dept Seeks Full-Time Patrol Sergeant

The Town of Nederland’s Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Patrol Sergeant. This position supports the Town Marshal in administration and supervision of the department, as well as patrols the Town, performs skilled investigative work, and serves as Acting Town Marshal in the Marshal’s absence. We value interpersonal skills, problem solving, enthusiasm, and good judgment. Demonstrating a positive attitude and passion for working in a small mountain community is a must. Colorado POST certification required. The Patrol Sergeant is a salary position, starting at $60,000 – $70,000 per year.

Additional requirements (equivalent education or training will be considered):

  • Bachelor’s degree in police science, criminology, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field
  • Five years of law enforcement police experience at the city, county, or military level
  • Two years’ supervisory experience within a law enforcement-related field

Full-time employees receive excellent benefits, including 12 paid holidays, employer-sponsored health insurance and 457(b) retirement account, 22 days of paid time off per year, and support of outside training for instructor certifications or areas of interest. After completion of training, additional perks include assigned patrol cars and no graveyard shifts.
