As I’m sure we’ve all seen this morning, Boulder County has announced a stay-at-home order that takes effect tomorrow morning. This order does include Nederland.
Of course, the big question that raises is what does that mean for us? To be honest, not much new. Nederland residents and businesses have been ahead of the curve on this and has already instituted most of the new restrictions!
Under this order, we can still go to the B+F and Co-op to shop for food. We can still order food to go from our restaurants and fresh-beer from our breweries. Ace Hardware, car mechanics, and bike mechanics are all considered essential services during this crisis and remain open.
The single most important thing we can take from this announcement is the seriousness of this moment. Now is the time to do everything we can do to stay physically distant from one another and slow the spread. If you’re out picking up food or walking your dog, just stay clear of one another. Wave from a distance and let them know you’re thinking of them, by not getting too close.
