Indian Peaks Wilderness

The 76,711 acre Indian Peaks Wilderness Area became part of the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1978. It is bordered on the south by the James Peak Wilderness on the north by Rocky Mountain National Park. Elevations range from 8,300 to just over 13,500 feet. Indian Peaks is one of the most visited wilderness areas in the United States.
