RESPONSE AND RECOVERY

The Town of Nederland has formed a Recovery and Resiliency Committee, which focuses on providing guidance to businesses and residents on the plans for reopening Town as we transition to the Safer at Home Order.

Message from Mayor Larsen – May 8, 2020:

Hello Nederland! Mayor Larsen here with a coronavirus update. All our residents and businesses have done an incredible job over the last seven weeks keeping our town healthy. Starting this weekend, we’re moving into the next phase of our response, Safer at Home. What does that mean for us in the coming weeks?  Safer at home is going to look a lot like the last few weeks. Starting this Saturday, the County health order goes into effect meaning that we all have to wear masks anytime we’re out in public, something I know most of us have already been doing. Our restaurants and stores will continue to be open for delivery and curbside to-go orders. Town facilities remain closed, but we can all get out and enjoy the incredible spring weather on our local trails as long as we stay apart from one another. I know that this is a hard time for a lot of us, and that we’re looking forward to the day we can again enjoy everything we love about Nederland without restrictions or the fear of infection. That day is coming, but for now we need to stick together, and support each other by wearing masks and keeping our distance. By doing that, we’ll all get through this and be back to our particular, if slightly skewed, version of normal as soon as possible.

Special Events During COVID-19 Safer at Home Orders

We are excited that you are interested in holding a special event within the Town of Nederland, especially as we transition to “Safer at Home” guidelines. We recognize however, that it is important that we continue to stay vigilant about social distancing and enforcing facial coverings when in public. Therefore, as you prepare for your event, we are requiring that you submit documentation to the Town Clerk so we can ensure that your event is in compliance with state and local guidelines.

Trustee Candidates:
