UPDATE – First St. Manhole Repair 06/18/2020 – SLOW TRAFFIC

THURSDAY, JUNE 18TH:

Slow Traffic on First Street, 6/18/2020 for Manhole Repair Work

The Town of Nederland has hired Industrial Pipe Solutions (IPS) to repair a manhole on First Street.  There will be no interruption to water or sewer service, but traffic will be slowed and potentially detoured, during this time.

ALTERNATE ROUTES ARE ADVISED.

Utilities Dept. Seeks Part-Time Operator I

Nederland Utilities Department Seeks Part-Time Operator I

The Town of Nederland is looking to hire a part-time Operator I in the Utilities department.  This position will work water, wastewater, distributions, and collections; with a special focus on maintaining the Town’s water meter system.

  • Experience with plumbing, power tools, hand tools, data collection, GIS, math, and science are a plus
  • $15 – $19/hour, 30 hours per week

NO WIPES DOWN THE PIPES!

Nederland town staff are continuing to remove an abundance of rags and trash from our wastewater treatment plant.

This has become a nation wide problem as people flush products that do not belong in the sewer system.

Only toilet paper should be flushed down your drains.

Flushing other products can cause clogs in our treatment plant, the Town’s sewers, and your own service line.  This can cause a backup of raw sewage into your home.

The flier below shows examples of products that should not be flushed.

PLEASE HELP US PROTECT OUR SYSTEM AND YOUR HOME.

2020 Residential Utility Rates

As previously announced on the back of the Q4 2019 Residential Utility bill, the 2020 billing rates are:

Water Base Fee   –   $37.50/qtr

Sewer Base Fee   –   $131.70/qtr

Water Usage       –   $9.43/1,000 gallons

Sewer Usage       –   $9.31/1,000 gallons

These rates will start with the Q1 2020 bill (service from 01/02 to 03/31) which will mail out in early April.

2020 COMMERCIAL UTILITY RATES

Please take note of the 2020 Commercial Utility Rates (as previously posted on the back of the 12/31/2019 Commercial Utility Bills):

Water Base Fee:  $15.22/mo

Sewer Base Fee:  $46.71/mo

Water Usage:  $9.43/1,000 gall.

Sewer Usage:  $9.31/1,000 gall.

These rates will begin with the January billing period (12/31/2019 to 01/31/2020).

UPDATE – Residential 3rd Qtr eBills for Water/Sewer – Not Able to View

10/10/2019 – 3pm:  We believe the issue has been resolved, and you should be able to view your 3rd Qtr bill (service from 07/08 to 10/05).

 

On 10/09, the Residential eBills did not upload properly to the system.  Although you likely received the eBill e-mail notification, you’re unable to view the current bill, and/or are seeing a zero balance.

Postcard bills are being mailed today, and the due date for the 3rd Qtr bill is November 9, 2019.

Once the issue is resolved, this notice will be updated.  We’re sorry for any inconvenience, but would appreciate your patience and understanding.
