Nederland Board of Trustees votes 4-3 to approve Ordinance 737

by Alex A on May 6, 2015

The Nederland Board of Trustees approved Ordinance 737 with a 4-3 vote at their May 5 regular meeting. The ordinance mandates a $0.10 fee on all paper and plastic bags distributed to consumers at Nederland retail stores. The Board first considered Ordinance 737 at their April 7 regular meeting but refrained from voting in order to consider non-regulatory options.
Under the direction of the Board, Town staff is now developing an implementation plan for the ordinance. While completion of the plan is expected in June, implementation will not begin until fall 2015 following the end of Nederland’s peak tourist season. The complete ordinance is available as a pdf file below. Questions regarding Ordinance 737 can be directed to Administrative Intern Alexander Armani-Munn at or (303-258-3266) ext. 27.
