Storm News — Updated 2:30 p.m.

Road conditions around the County continue to deteriorate in the face of the continued rain and storm surges. Boulder Canyon continues to be closed, as do routes to the north of town and in Coal Creek Canyon. We continue to urge residents to avoid driving if at all possible and to stay home. Another band of rain is forecasted for later this afternoon/evening.

Additionally, many residents have expressed concerns about the Barker Meadow Dam. The dam is high but is in good condition at this time. Earlier this afternoon, a storm surge moved down the lower part of Boulder Canyon when debris broke loose in Boulder Creek, according to police. That storm surge did not originate at the dam, however.

Public Works and Police continue to monitor roadways and safety conditions around Nederland.
