Visitor’s Center reopens Saturday, May 11 – New season features several ways for local businesses to get involved!

The Nederland Visitor’s Center reopens for business on Saturday, May 11. The center will be open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Warmer weather and additional volunteers will result in extended weekday hours during the summer.  The Visitor’s Center will again feature information on local sites and activities. Businesses in the Peak to Peak region are welcome to submit rack cards for the display kiosk (these should measure 4 inches by 9 inches for best display) or business cards.  Materials may be dropped off at the center during business hours.

With the new season comes several different ways for local businesses to be featured.  In addition to the usual contributions of business cards and information, businesses will be able to submit their names for drawing to be highlighted in the monthly local business section. This may include a product, gift certificate, or just information, and the business will be responsible for stocking the space, any promotional materials and information the Visitor Center staff will need to know about the business and/or product.  Town Hall staff will randomly select names each month for featuring at the Visitor’s Center.  To submit your business name, please e-mail your request to info@nederlandco.org.

The Visitor’s Center is staffed by volunteers, under the direction of Dog House Inc.  Dog House Inc. was awarded the operations contract by the Town Board of Trustees this spring, after a public search process was conducted. If you would like to volunteer for a shift, please e-mail katrina@katrinaharms.com.  A volunteer must be friendly to anyone who steps into the Visitor’s Center, as well as have some experience with money. Training is provided, as well as a volunteer t-shirt, 10% off merchandise, and you’ll meet people from all over the world.

For more information, call the Visitor’s Center at (303) 258-3936.
