Manganese causing discoloration of Town water

by admin on May 28, 2013

There is a higher level of manganese in the water from the annual seasonal run-off.  People may experience a yellowish/greenish or brownish tint against porcelain, but water should appear clear in a glass jar in the sun.

Manganese is a naturally-occurring substance which is not regulated by the State for levels in the water.  By Colorado State standards, the water is considered safe to drink.  This increased level is expected to clear through the system as soon as the annual run-off slows down.

Thank you for your patience.
