West Magnolia Recreation Area CLOSED (as of 6/5/12)

by admin on June 5, 2012

From the U.S. Forest Service:

The popular West Magnolia recreation area is now closed for a fuel treatment project. This project is designed to address hazard trees from recent wind events, fuel loading at risk for undesirable fire behavior, and dangers associated with the current level of mountain pine beetle infestation.

The closure order and map have been posted to the web at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/arp/westmagnolia. If this project impacts you, it is important to stay informed on the details. Please check the web page frequently, as information regarding the project timelines, treatment, and frequently asked questions will be updated as it becomes available.

If you know anyone who would like to be on the list for updates on this project, please have them contact me by email or phone. If you do not want to receive emails associated with this topic, please let me know. We are working hard to improve communication about the work we do in and around our neighboring communities. Please keep us informed if you have questions about the project or suggestions on ways to improve the flow of information.

With the utmost respect and gratitude,
Elsha Kirby
